Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 23, 2025 | Last Updated: August 23, 2025
Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how LandWise Analytica (“LandWise,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information about you when you use our website, applications, and services (the “Services”), including our land suitability and crop‑yield reporting tools. By using the Services, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
Scope & Roles
This Policy applies to personal information we process as a “controller” (or “organization”)—for example, account data, usage data, and support communications. We also process Customer Data you submit to generate Reports (e.g., property boundaries). For Customer Data, we generally act as a processor/service provider on your behalf.
Contact
If you have questions, or to exercise privacy rights, contact us at: support@landwiseanalytica.com.
Information We Collect
1) Information you provide
- Account & Profile. Name, email, company, role, password (stored in hashed form), preferences, and similar account details.
- Customer Data for Reports. Property identifiers, coordinates, addresses, drawn or uploaded boundaries/polygons, area selections, annotations, and related inputs you submit to generate Reports.
- Files & Content. Any files or notes you upload or enter in the Services.
- Support & Communications. Messages sent to us, and related metadata.
- Billing. We use a third‑party (currently Stripe) to process payments. We do not collect or store full payment card numbers; Stripe receives them directly. We may receive limited billing details and payment metadata (e.g., status, last four digits, billing address).
2) Information collected automatically
- Usage & Diagnostics. Interactions with the Services, timestamps, pages and features used, report generation events, and error logs.
- Device & Network. IP address, device type, operating system, browser type, language, referrer/exit pages, and approximate location (derived from IP).
- Cookies & Similar Technologies. We use cookies, local storage, and similar tools to operate the site, remember preferences, authenticate users, and perform analytics.
3) Information from third parties
- Payments. Stripe provides us with limited information about your subscription status and billing (no full card numbers). See Stripe’s Privacy Policy.
- Operational & Data Providers. Hosting, analytics, and geospatial/climate/soil data providers may supply or host data we use to deliver and improve the Services.
How We Use Information
- Provide, operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Services.
- Generate and deliver Reports (including Basic and Premium tiers).
- Authenticate users; process subscriptions, billing, and support.
- Analyze usage, improve performance, quality, and user experience.
- Develop and improve models, features, and content (including using de‑identified/aggregated data as described below).
- Send transactional emails (e.g., receipts, service alerts). With consent where required, send marketing communications.
- Comply with law, enforce our Terms, and protect rights, safety, and property.
AI/ML and Geospatial Data
Our Services use machine learning with remote sensing, climate, and soil datasets to estimate historical and projected yield and produce field‑level maps. We may use de‑identified and aggregated Customer Data and usage data to evaluate and improve our models and features. We do not attempt to re‑identify de‑identified data.
Opt‑out: If you prefer that your Customer Data not be used to improve our models (beyond providing the Services to you), email support@landwiseanalytica.com. This opt‑out will not affect previously derived de‑identified or aggregated data.
Legal Bases (EEA/UK where applicable)
- Contract necessity (to provide the Services you request).
- Legitimate interests (e.g., service improvement, security, preventing fraud, limited direct marketing).
- Consent (where required, e.g., certain cookies/marketing).
- Legal obligations (e.g., tax, accounting, responses to lawful requests).
When We Share Information
- Service Providers/Processors. Hosting, storage, analytics, payment processing (Stripe), customer support, email delivery, and similar vendors who process data under our instructions.
- Operational & Data Partners. Geospatial/climate/soil data and map rendering providers involved in report generation and delivery.
- Affiliates & Advisors. As needed for operations, finance, auditing, or legal advice.
- Legal & Compliance. To comply with law, enforce agreements, or protect rights, safety, and property.
- Business Transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
We do not sell your personal information for money. If in the future we “sell” or “share” personal information as defined by privacy laws (e.g., targeted advertising), we will provide required disclosures and a way to opt out.
Cookies & Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, measure performance, and understand how the Services are used. You can set your browser to refuse some or all cookies or to alert you when cookies are being set. Some features may not function properly without certain cookies.
- Strictly necessary — required to operate the Services (e.g., authentication, security).
- Functional — remember preferences and improve experience.
- Analytics — understand usage to improve the Services.
- Advertising — if used, measure/serve ads (with required consent/opt‑out where applicable).
Where required, we will seek your consent for non‑essential cookies. You may update preferences in your browser and, if available, in our cookie settings.
Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. We may retain de‑identified or aggregated data for longer.
Security
We employ reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the data we process. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International Data Transfers
We may process and store information in Canada, the United States, and other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross‑border transfers (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms).

You have rights to access and correct personal information we hold about you. Contact us to submit a request or complaint. We will work to resolve concerns and you may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or your provincial authority.
EEA/UK (GDPR)
If GDPR applies, LandWise is the controller for account, usage, and marketing data, and a processor for Customer Data processed to generate Reports. We provide the rights described above to residents of applicable states, including the right to access, delete, and correct personal information and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale, or certain profiling where these activities occur. We do not sell personal information for money. If we engage in activities deemed a “sale” or “sharing” or “targeted advertising,” we will provide a mechanism to opt out (for example, a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link).
Authorized agents may submit requests by emailing support@landwiseanalytica.com. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision email; we will provide instructions and respond within the required timeframe.
Children’s Privacy
The Services are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under the age threshold required by local law). If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
Third‑Party Links & Services
The Services may link to third‑party sites or services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their policies before providing personal information.
Do Not Track
Some browsers transmit “Do Not Track” signals. Our Services do not respond to such signals. You can use the choices described in this Policy to control cookies and marketing.
